Licence Issuance
In reply to Mr TEAGUE (Heysen) ((23 June 2022).). (Estimates Committee B)
The Hon. A. MICHAELS (Enfield—Minister for Small and Family Business, Minister for Consumer and Business Affairs, Minister for Arts): I have been advised:
In 2021-22, 590 applications for new licences were received in comparison to 519 in 2020-21.
353 applications for transfer were received in both 2020-21 and 2021-22.
In 2021-22, 210 applications to vary licences were received in comparison to 88 in 2020-21.
As the total number of liquor licence applications incorporates a broad range of application types including surrenders, exemptions, redefinitions and revocations, the figures for new applications, transfers and variations do not equate to the total number of applications reflected in the Budget Agency Statements.
In addition, the figures provided above relate to actual activity in 2021-22, while the Budget Agency Statements reflect projected figures.
