Public Sector
In reply to Mr COWDREY (Colton) ((21 June 2022).). (Estimates Committee A)
The Hon. K.J. MAHER (Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Attorney-General, Minister for Industrial Relations and Public Sector): I have been advised:
The Fair Work Act 1994 (SA) encourages and facilitates the making of enterprise agreements about remuneration, conditions of employment and other industrial matters1.
Enterprise bargaining outcomes may include wage and salary changes as well as changes to employment conditions.
Enterprise bargaining negotiations are specific to the particular process and circumstances. The objective is to reach reasonable outcomes in each negotiation process. Because each enterprise bargaining process varies, it is not possible to provide an average wage increase assumption as a percentage each year across the forward estimates; even if it were, it would not be appropriate for me to disclose it. Any state budget assumption or projection is a matter for the Treasurer.
