COVID-19 Full-Time Equivalent Reductions

In reply to Mr WHETSTONE (Chaffey) ((22 June 2022).). (Estimates Committee B)

The Hon. J.K. SZAKACS (Cheltenham—Minister for Police, Emergency Services and Correctional Services): I have been advised:

There has been no reduction in SAPOL employees since the easing of COVID-19 restrictions other than where employees have voluntarily separated. This has included the following: retirement, to take up other opportunities or for other personal reasons.

SAPOL utilised contractors and mobilised public sector employees to assist with COVID-19 duties. At the height of COVID-19 activity, SAPOL had over 200 contractors and mobilised public sector employees. This has now reduced to less than 10.
