Emergency Services

The Hon. J.K. SZAKACS (Cheltenham—Minister for Police, Emergency Services and Correctional Services):

I have been advised that for the South Australian Fire and Emergency Services Sector (ESS) which includes South Australian Fire and Emergency Services Commission (SAFECOM), South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS), South Australian State Emergency Services (SES) and South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS):

SAFECOM
Community Emergency Services Fund Established to manage the Emergency Services Levy and disbursement of funds to support the Emergency Services Sector.
Disaster Risk Reduction Program (DRRP) The Disaster Risk Reduction Program objective is to proactively reduce the risk and limit the impact of disasters associated with natural hazards on Australian communities and economies.
Natural Disaster Resilience Program (NDRP) The Natural Disaster Resilience Program supports projects that have: primary regard for the public interest; key benefits being the improvement of emergency management capability and/or community resilience; and consistency with the national resilience agenda.
National Flood Mitigation Infrastructure Program The National Flood Mitigation Infrastructure Program supports projects to improve the existing and/or construction of new Flood Mitigation Infrastructure which contribute to a reduction in flood risk to, and the impact of flood on, a specific community or communities.
Surf Life Saving Club Grants Grant of $5,000 to 22 Surf Life Saving Clubs in South Australia to enable the clubs to upgrade key rescue and emergency response equipment.
Regional Capability Community Fund* Grant program for landowners to purchase equipment to create farm firefighting units
SES
SES Volunteer Association Funding for SASES Volunteer Association
SES Volunteer Welfare Fund Financial support to SASES volunteers who are in need due to extraordinary circumstances associated with injury, illness, ill health, disability or other misfortune.
CFS
CFS Volunteer Association Grant To support Volunteer Association activities
SA Volunteer Firefighters Museum To support Museum activities


* This initiative delivers on the government's election commitment in the budget paper and is currently published in the budget papers under CFS. It is expected that this initiative will be transferred across in 2022-23 to be managed by SAFECOM.
