Targeted Road Safety Works

The Hon. J.K. SZAKACS (Cheltenham—Minister for Police, Emergency Services and Correctional Services): I have been advised that a large majority of this significant program of safety works has been delivered.

Detailed planning and design regarding the safety improvements for the Dukes Highway resulted in a refinement of the scope which necessitated negotiations and agreement with the Australian government before they could be progressed. While agreement was reached, it resulted in a delay to the commencement of the works.
