Aboriginal Monuments
In reply to Mr TEAGUE (Heysen—Deputy Leader of the Opposition) (24 June 2025). (Estimates Committee B)
The Hon. K.J. MAHER (Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Attorney-General, Minister for Industrial Relations and Public Sector, Special Minister of State): I have been advised of the following:
The second paragraph of 'Explanation of significant movements' provided on page 17 of Budget Paper 4, Volume 1 explains the increase in expenses in the 2024-25 estimated result compared to the 2023-24 actual for this program.
A component of this increase relates to the budget for Aboriginal monuments.
There was no actual expenditure in 2023-24, however there is a budget allocation of $500,000 in 2024-25, hence the reference in this paragraph to a $0.5 million increase between those two financial years.
