Sand Testing

The Hon. S.E. CLOSE (Port Adelaide—Deputy Premier, Minister for Climate, Environment and Water, Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science, Minister for Workforce and Population Strategy): I have been advised by the Department for Environment and Water of the following:

The sand is tested every 1,000 tonnes produced, by both the quarry and a National Association of Testing Authorities accredited laboratory.

Over the course of the 2025 campaign, more than 200 samples were collected. This includes testing in the six weeks leading up to the estimates hearing. As of 15 July 2025, results have been received for 170 of those samples.
