Forensic Science SA
In reply to Mr TEAGUE (Heysen—Deputy Leader of the Opposition) (24 June 2025). (Estimates Committee B)
The Hon. K.J. MAHER (Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Attorney-General, Minister for Industrial Relations and Public Sector, Special Minister of State): I have been advised of the following:
The revised project completion date will align more closely with the proposed lease extension of the existing facilities and will ensure an effective transition between the current and new sites.
The relocation of staff to the SA Forensic Centre will be a significant process involving around 320 staff. The timing also reflects that this is a complex facility; one of a kind in the country and rare internationally.
