Overseas Migration Plan
In reply to Mr TELFER (Flinders) (5 July 2023). (Estimates Committee B)
The Hon. N.D. CHAMPION (Taylor—Minister for Trade and Investment, Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Minister for Planning): I have been advised:
The latest assumptions for population growth, including migration, are contained in the recently released population forecast update on the PlanSA Portal.
These assumptions are based on the Australian government's Department of Home Affairs Migration Program, which, in 2022-23, was 190,000 places.
Historically, South Australia has received between six to seven per cent of the national overseas migration, which equates to approximately 15,000 people.
