Trade and Investment Department Staff
In reply to Mr WHETSTONE (Chaffey) (5 July 2023). (Estimates Committee B)
The Hon. N.D. CHAMPION (Taylor—Minister for Trade and Investment, Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Minister for Planning): I have been advised:
The 2023-24 budget papers reported 390.6 FTE for the 2022-23 estimated result, compared to 371.7 FTE for the 2021-22 actuals. The actuals are based on data published by the Office of the Commissioner for Public Sector Employment (OCPSE). The variance of 18.9 FTE is comprised of the following:
six FTE budgeted in the Office of the Agent-General, London, which are not included in the OCPSE actuals data; and
27.5 FTE in relation to vacant positions as at 30 June 2022, or where employees were working part-time in a position which was budgeted full-time. A number of vacancies were temporarily backfilled with agency staff.
Partially offset by:
14.6 FTE reduction in positions during 2022-23 due to restructure and budget savings initiatives.
