Tea Tree Gully Community Wastewater Management System
In reply to Mr COWDREY (Colton) (3 July 2023). (Estimates Committee A)
The Hon. S.E. CLOSE (Port Adelaide—Deputy Premier, Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science, Minister for Defence and Space Industries, Minister for Climate, Environment and Water): I have been advised:
In April 2021, SA Water published the Tea Tree Gully Sustainable Sewer Transition Plan, which outlined the plan to transition 2,000 properties by the end of this regulatory period. To support this plan SA Water undertook two construction pilots, which provided greater understanding of delivery challenges and complexities. The learnings from these pilots informed an adjusted expectation on the number of transitions that can be completed within the four-year regulatory period to June 2024.
As previously advised, SA Water has connected 316 properties. For financial year 2023-24, SA Water is expecting to connect another 378 properties to its sewer network.
The connection for the remainder of the properties, totalling 4,100, will be delivered in subsequent years.
