Trade and Investment
In reply to Mr WHETSTONE (Chaffey) (5 July 2023). (Estimates Committee B)
The Hon. N.D. CHAMPION (Taylor—Minister for Trade and Investment, Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Minister for Planning): I have been advised:
The increase is primarily made up of:
$5.7 million estimated increase in activity under the Land Services SA contract, which will be more than offset by additional revenue to the state;
$2.6 million standard indexation on supplies and services;
$2.3 million in variations to grant payments between years to align with the expected timing of payments;
$2 million for the state's contribution in supporting BioCina to establish an end-to-end mRNA manufacturing facility in South Australia;
$1.6 million for increased activity under the Valuation of Land Act 1971;
$1.4 million increase in depreciation in line with the department's fixed asset base;
$1.2 million to undertake regional growth plans across South Australia; and
$0.4 million to increase the state's international presence and representation in overseas markets in Frankfurt, Washington DC and Singapore.
Partially offset by:
$2.5 million StudyAdelaide annual funding transferred to the Department for Industry, Innovation and Science under machinery of government changes.
