Trade and Investment
In reply to Mr WHETSTONE (Chaffey) (5 July 2023). (Estimates Committee B)
The Hon. N.D. CHAMPION (Taylor—Minister for Trade and Investment, Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Minister for Planning): I have been advised:
The 2022-23 state budget papers reported total net costs for the Department for Trade and Investment (DTI) of $44.586 million, which included $3.832 million related to industry capability networks and international education.
On 1 July 2022 these functions transferred to the Department for Industry, Innovation and Science, which reduced the DTI figure reported in the 2023-24 budget papers. This transfer is separately identified in the Program Net Cost of Services Summary as a reconciliation item associated with machinery of government.
