Torrens to Darlington Project
In reply to the Hon. V.A. TARZIA (Hartley) (30 June 2023). (Estimates Committee A)
The Hon. A. KOUTSANTONIS (West Torrens—Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Minister for Energy and Mining): I note a review of the former Liberal Government's flawed Torrens to Darlington motorway design found it to be significantly under scoped and under costed, and that the total cost to the state would have been $15.15 billion with essential network upgrades included, not the $9.9 billion the Marshall Liberal Government promised the people of South Australia prior to the 2022 state election.
The Department for Infrastructure and Transport advises that the department is unable to release the estimated cost of property acquisitions due to ongoing negotiations with interested parties.
