OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC PROSECUTIONS

In reply to Mrs REDMOND (Heysen) (26 June 2008).

The Hon. M.J. ATKINSON (Croydon—Attorney-General, Minister for Justice, Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Minister for Veterans' Affairs): I have received this advice:

The current situation is that:

In total each practice team in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution has between 21 and 23 staff comprising both legal staff and law clerks.

The legal complement consists of around 16 or 17 FTEs per practice including one managing prosecutor and two senior prosecutors.

There are, on average, five FTE law clerks including one law clerk team leader in each practice.

General administration staff and social workers are shared resources outside the practice teams.
