SURPLUS EMPLOYEES

In reply to Mr HAMILTON-SMITH (Waite—Leader of the Opposition) (25 June 2008).

The Hon. M.D. RANN (Ramsay—Premier, Minister for Economic Development, Minister for Social Inclusion, Minister for the Arts, Minister for Sustainability and Climate Change): The Auditor-General has provided the following information:

1. I have been advised the Department of Treasury and Finance will be providing a response to this question on behalf of all ministers.

2. I have been advised the Premier will be providing a response to this question on behalf of all ministers.

3. There are no surplus employees within the Auditor-General's Department.

4. I have been advised the Department of Treasury and Finance will be providing a response to this question on behalf of all ministers.

5. I have been advised the Department of Treasury and Finance will be providing a response to this question on behalf of all ministers.

6.(1) There are six executive employees (including the Auditor-General who is a statutory office holder) with a total employment cost of $100,000 or more. The statutory office holder has a total employment cost of $200,000 or more.

In addition to the executive employees, there are six employees at the ASO8 level and one employee at the ASO7 level, who are defined benefit superannuation scheme members. The total estimated costs for these seven employees exceeded $100,000 in the 2007-08 year.

6.(2) Between 30 June 2007 and 30 June 2008, there were no positions created or abolished with a total employment cost of $100,000 or more.

7. The Auditor-General's Department does not administer any grants.
