CRITICAL SKILLS INVESTMENT PROGRAM
In reply to Mr PISONI (Unley) (26 June 2012).
The Hon. T.R. KENYON (Newland—Minister for Employment, Higher Education and Skills, Minister for Science and Information Economy, Minister for Recreation and Sport): The payroll tax exemption for wages paid to apprentices and trainees was in place for the period 1 July 2010 to 30 June 2012.
Information obtained from RevenueSA suggests that in 2010-11 approximately 1,750 registered taxpayers' recorded trainee and apprentice wages in their annual payroll tax reconciliations. Information about the 2011-12 year will not be available until after the completion of the annual reconciliation process towards late 2012.
