BUSINESS SA

In reply to Mr MARSHALL (Norwood—Deputy Leader of the Opposition) (22 June 2012).

The Hon. A. KOUTSANTONIS (West Torrens—Minister for Manufacturing, Innovation and Trade, Minister for Mineral Resources and Energy, Minister for Small Business): I am advised that the total funding for Business SA is $1.44 million for the following periods:

International Trade Unit

$500,000 in 2011-12; and

$500,000 in 2012-13.

Coaching and Mentoring Program

$200,000 in 2011-12;

$150,000 in 2012-13; and

$70,000 in 2013-14.

Sponsorship agreement

$20,000 in June 2012

The budget initiative was approved for Business SA to establish a trade unit to support SMEs in trade missions, trade education, language support and translation, business matching and development of funding assistance proposals.

The Department for Manufacturing, Innovation, Trade, Resources and Energy (DMITRE), has outsourced the management and delivery of its Coaching and Mentoring Program to Business SA, for the financial years 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14.

DMITRE has agreed to sponsor the Business SA Export Awards in 2012.
