TAFE SA

In reply to Mr PISONI (Unley) (26 June 2012).

The Hon. T.R. KENYON (Newland—Minister for Employment, Higher Education and Skills, Minister for Science and Information Economy, Minister for Recreation and Sport): No, TAFE SA is currently developing costing tools, down to the units of competency within each course. Under the previous funding arrangements costs were not attributed at the course level, which means that historical information on the number of individual courses making a profit or loss is not available.

Skills for All has established a new funding arrangement from 1 July 2012 which sees training providers only paid when a student successfully completes a unit of competency. This new funding arrangement has been in operation since 1 July 2012.
