INDUSTRY CAPABILITY NETWORK

In reply to Mr MARSHALL (Norwood—Deputy Leader of the Opposition) (22 June 2012).

The Hon. A. KOUTSANTONIS (West Torrens—Minister for Manufacturing, Innovation and Trade, Minister for Mineral Resources and Energy, Minister for Small Business): I am advised that the Industry Capability Network SA (ICNSA), is the state government's key agency responsible for facilitating local industry participation. As part of this role, the ICNSA is also responsible for the implementation of the Industry Participation Policy (IPP).

ICNSA's role in the policy is two-fold: firstly to oversee the policy and its implementation across government; and secondly to assist companies issuing tenders with locating capable local suppliers.

ICNSA has ten staff including the National Sector Manager—Water, a national role which is federally funded, is co-located with ICNSA. There is not additional staff or a separate policy group to oversee the IPP.

As identified in the Agency Budget Statements, under Program 1 on page 84, ICNSA receives $200,000 from the Commonwealth. This fund, the National Sector Manager—Water and his program activities.
