CABINET RESHUFFLE

In reply to the Hon. R.L. BROKENSHIRE (3 March 2008).

The Hon. P. HOLLOWAY (Minister for Mineral Resources Development, Minister for Urban Development and Planning, Minister for Small Business): The Minister for Agriculture, Food and Fisheries has provided the following information:

To suggest that the government needs to take action to stimulate regional economies and provide interim social support ignores the fact that the South Australian Government continues to work assiduously with the Commonwealth Government, with local government and with impacted communities to put in place short and long term measures to ensure that the state emerges from the drought and the global credit crisis in the best possible condition.

I refer you to the Drought website for further details on the programs being delivered—www.service.sa.gov.au/contentpages/sagout/drought.
