COMMERCIAL PROPERTY LEASING
In reply to Ms CHAPMAN (Bragg) (20 June 2012).
The Hon. P.F. CONLON (Elder—Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Minister for Housing and Urban Development): I have been advised:
The portfolio statement report is the total area of CBD offices (including both government owned and leased office buildings). The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure believes that a more accurate indicator is to report the area and cost of leased accommodation across the state.
The total area and cost of government leases with the private sector (i.e. excluding government owned assets) across the state is 368,324m² at an estimated cost of $128,743,000 in 2012-13, broken down as follows:
243,051m² in the Adelaide CBD at a cost of $103,350,000
98,442m² in the metropolitan area at a cost of $20,115,000
26,831m² in regional South Australia at a cost of $5,278,000.
