BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT FUNDING

The Hon. J.D. LOMAX-SMITH (Adelaide—Minister for Education, Minister for Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Minister for Tourism, Minister for the City of Adelaide): The Department of Education and Children's Services has provided the following information:

The Bowden Brompton Community School is the South Australian Department of Education and Children's Services (DECS) Specialist behaviour management school. Its annual funding is $2,922,260 based on the June 2009 Resource Entitlement Statement. The school has campuses in Brompton, Salisbury North and Christies Beach.

DECS also operates 3 learning centres: Beafield Education Centre (with campuses at Para Hills, Brahma Lodge, Windsor Gardens, and Paradise), Cowandilla Learning Centre and the Southern Learning Centre at Christies Beach. These centres provide intensive, short term programs and support to assist students from Reception to Year 12 who have been excluded from their school, to achieve behavioural and attitudinal change and to re-engage with appropriate educational settings and programs. The total budget for these centres for 2008-09 is $3,582,800 which includes student transport.
