PRIVATE PRACTICE EQUIPMENT FUNDS

The Hon. J.D. HILL (Kaurna—Minister for Health, Minister for Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Minister for the Southern Suburbs, Minister Assisting the Premier in the Arts): I have been advised that:

1. Private practice equipment funds reflect distributions from all relevant types of private practice activities. It is, therefore, not possible to distinguish fund balances derived from private outpatient activity alone.

As at 30 June 2010, funds identified specifically as private practice equipment funds had a balance of $17 million across SA Health. Health units have identified that a small portion of these funds are already committed to purchases in 2010-11.
