DEFENCE SA

In reply to Mr GRIFFITHS (Goyder) (26 June 2009).

The Hon. K.O. FOLEY (Port Adelaide—Deputy Premier, Treasurer, Minister for Industry and Trade, Minister for Federal/State Relations): I am advised subdivision and servicing of land within the Techport Australia Supplier Precinct has yielded 13 allotments marketed as Stage One. This stage comprises approximately 108,143 square metres of available land of which 51,929 square metres (approximately half) has been sold.

The State Budget for 2009-10 commits $7.31 million for site geotechnical preparation works for stages three and four in Techport Australia and the adjacent Osborne North Industrial Precinct, to provide quality serviced industrial allotments for defence and other industries.

The proposed precinct development involves subdivision and servicing of approximately 364,780 square metres of land to create 31 serviced allotments ranging from 4,814 square metres to 18,710 square metres.

The precinct will be developed over the next two years, with sales to commence from 2011. The development is proposed to occur in at least two stages, subject to market demand.
