Rundle Street
79 The Hon. J.S. LEE (Deputy Leader of the Opposition) ().6 July 20226 July 2022). Can the Minister for Tourism advise:
1. Will the government provide additional public transport services to assist commuters impacted by the closure of Rundle Road between East Terrace and Dequeteville Terrace for almost four months between June and September so that it can house a pavilion for the Illuminate Adelaide festival (as reported by The Advertiser on 23 May 2022)?
2. Has the government considered providing free or discounted public transport on affected routes due to the disruption? If not, why not?

The government, through the South Australian Tourism Commission, is a sponsor of Illuminate Adelaide.
As the event organiser, Illuminate Adelaide are responsible for negotiating road closures with the Adelaide City Council.
Illuminate Adelaide has attracted a significant number of visitors into the city during the event. The event has brought the city to life with a combination of free and ticketed events across the City of Adelaide, with inner city businesses reporting increases in winter sales.
The government, through the Department of Infrastructure and Transport provided free public transport on Saturday 16, 23 and 30 July 2022 from 5pm to midnight for attendees to Illuminate Adelaide.
