BUILDING THE EDUCATION REVOLUTION
In reply to Mr GRIFFITHS (Goyder) (8 November 2011) (First Session).
The Hon. P.F. CONLON (Elder—Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Minister for Housing and Urban Development): I am advised:
Under Building the Education Revolution component of the Commonwealth Nation Building—Economic Stimulus Plan, 739 State Government projects were undertaken in South Australia across 546 public school sites.
Of those 739 projects, 725 projects were managed by the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI), five projects jointly managed by DPTI and the Department of Education and Child Development (DECD) and nine projects managed by DECD.
Nine of the 739 projects remain outstanding and include:
Marree Aboriginal School
Mid North Education Centre
Whyalla Special School—DECD managed
Winkie Primary School—DECD managed
Elizabeth Special School*
Evanston Primary School*
Kensington Centre*
John Morphett Primary School*
Morphett Vale West Primary School*
*Incorporated into major construction projects and will be completed through 2014.
One of the 739 projects is physically complete however the contractor has not provided sufficient documentation (e.g. compliance certificates from authorities etc) to achieve practical completion:
Kangaroo Island Parndana Campus
All of the projects (other than those identified*) will be completed in the first half of 2012.
