The Hon. J.M. RANKINE (Wright—Minister for Education and Child Development, Minister for Multicultural Affairs): I have been advised:

1. 83.5 per cent were started and completed in 2011-12, noting that investigations started in one year can be completed in the next year.

2. Matters referred to police are determined on a case-by-case basis at different points in time depending on the nature of the investigation and the available evidence.
