NOARLUNGA HOSPITAL

In reply to Ms CHAPMAN (Bragg—Deputy Leader of the Opposition) (29 June 2008).

The Hon. J.D. HILL (Kaurna—Minister for Health, Minister for the Southern Suburbs, Minister Assisting the Premier in the Arts): I am advised:

Approximately 9,000 outpatient services are provided annually at Noarlunga Health Service.

Outpatient appointments may sometimes be cancelled if say a doctor is sick but this is not common and new appointments are rescheduled as soon possible.

Patients themselves may cancel and some just don't show up.

I am not sure how Ms Chapman derived the figure of 6,000 cancellations but if she would like to provide me with the details I would be happy to look into it.

Planning is underway to increase outpatient services provided at Noarlunga Health Service.
