Automotive Workers in Transition Program

The Hon. A.L. McLACHLAN (15:17): I seek leave to make a brief explanation before asking the Minister for Manufacturing and Innovation a question.

The Hon. A.L. McLACHLAN: On 1 November last year, the minister provided a response to a question taken on notice regarding the Automotive Workers in Transition Program. The response stated that a worker tracking options paper is currently being finalised with the intention of tracking longitudinal outcomes, including employment outcomes for the whole cohort. My question to the minister is: has the options paper been finalised and, if so, when will it be publicly released?

MAHER (Minister for Employment, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation, Minister for Manufacturing and Innovation, Minister for Automotive Transformation, Minister for Science and Information Economy) (15:17): I thank the honourable member for his question and his interest in the manufacturing and automotive area, specifically. I have missed him, Mr President. I used to get a lot of attention from the Hon. Andrew McLachlan, but he has showered his attention on the minister for corrections more recently. In relation to that particular study, I don't have information in front of me about where that particular study is up to, but I am happy to take it on notice and bring back exactly where that study of that particular program is up to.
