Homophobia in Australian Rules Football

SIMMS (14:44): Supplementary: given penalties don't appear to be working effectively at the moment, does the minister have any views on further action that could be taken within the AFL, for instance, increased representation of LGBTI voices within the sport or increased training or education for players?

BOURKE (Minister for Emergency Services and Correctional Services, Minister for Autism, Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing) (14:44): I am always happy to take on ideas and feedback. I know Rainbow Crows, for example, is a really active group and I have had the privilege of discussing with them how we can make it a more inclusive environment not just on the field but also at the training facilities and how we can make this a community for all. Just like we are in our broader community, it needs to be reflective in our sporting community as well.
