Transit Police
Mr PISONI (Unley) (14:52): Supplementary, sir: the minister put out a press release in January this year, where he claimed that there were nearly 100. Do you stand by those comments you made in that press release?
The Hon. J.M. Rankine interjecting:
The SPEAKER: The member for Wright is called to order. Minister.
The Hon. S.C. MULLIGHAN (Lee—Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Minister for Housing and Urban Development) (14:52): I thank the member for Unley for his question. That's certainly my understanding, but the member for Unley in his previous question asked for a specific number, and I've indicated that I would have to seek the most up-to-date advice. The advice that I've always had is that we made a commitment in 2012 to significantly increase the number of transit police. We provided that funding, and my understanding is that that recruitment occurred.
