Gillman Land Sale
Ms CHAPMAN (Bragg—Deputy Leader of the Opposition) (14:54): A further question to the Minister for Planning: is the minister aware of any other commercial contract or instance where a major land sale has an open-ended settlement period?

RAU (Enfield—Deputy Premier, Attorney-General, Minister for Justice Reform, Minister for Planning, Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Minister for Industrial Relations, Minister for Child Protection Reform) (14:54): I don't accept the characterisation in the question about open-ended settlement. I did explain that there are a number of ways that you can define when something is going to happen. One way of doing it is to put a particular date and time on it.
Mr Pederick: You write a date on the contract.
The Hon. J.R. RAU: You can do that, or you could say, 'When I've got a thousand sheep, then I'll sell them to you.' They're different ways of framing up the same question.
