Ms CHAPMAN (Bragg—Deputy Leader of the Opposition) (14:35): Why did the commissioner describe the Treasurer's former chief of staff, Robert Malinauskas, as 'trying to paint minister Koutsantonis in the best possible light'?

RAU (Enfield—Deputy Premier, Attorney-General, Minister for Justice Reform, Minister for Planning, Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Minister for Industrial Relations, Minister for Child Protection Reform) (14:35): It is not reasonable for the honourable member to ask a member of the government to speculate on what was in the mind of the commissioner when he wrote what he has written in his report. I think it's been made very clear already that the government is in no way running away from or arguing with the findings made by the commissioner in his report. As to what thought processes may or may not have been going on in the mind of the commissioner, that's a matter for the commissioner.
