Legal Costs
The Hon. C. BONAROS (15:03): Supplementary: just further to that last response, is the Attorney of the view that in these cases, generally speaking, there is an entitlement to reimbursement, and that there is no discretion by the Attorney in relation to those claims?
The Hon. K.J. MAHER (Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Attorney-General, Minister for Industrial Relations and Public Sector) (15:03): I thank the honourable member for the opportunity to give legal advice and draw legal conclusions; however, I am going to resist it on this occasion. As I said, typically what will happen when requests are made is that advice will be sought and we will act upon that advice. I am going to resist the temptation to give blanket legal views on the factual situation that the member has outlined.
