Teaching Qualifications
Mr PISONI (Unley) (14:39): My question is to the Minister for Education and Child Development. Can the minister confirm that the government will deliver on its election promise for 'all new teachers to have master's qualifications from 2020'?
The Hon. S.E. CLOSE (Port Adelaide—Minister for Education and Child Development, Minister for the Public Sector) (14:39): The difficulty—and I do not think I can bring you completely up to date today—is that I believe we are still in discussions with the commonwealth government about adjusting the cap on master's places. However, given that minister Gago in the other place is the lead on undertaking that work, I will seek an answer from her to bring back to the house.
