Ministerial Staff
Ms CHAPMAN (Bragg—Deputy Leader of the Opposition) (15:06): My question is to the Premier. Will the ministerial staff who have been using personal email accounts to conduct government business, as identified by the ICAC, be required to submit these emails for attention under the State Records Act?
The Hon. J.R. RAU (Enfield—Deputy Premier, Attorney-General, Minister for Justice Reform, Minister for Planning, Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Minister for Industrial Relations) (15:06): I think we actually traversed this territory yesterday afternoon, as I recall. As I said yesterday and I say again, it is my intention to speak with the ICAC commissioner to find out from him what it is in particular that he has in mind and what his particular concern is. I will then consider that matter, provide some advice in due course to the Premier and the cabinet, and we will resolve at that point what to do about the issue, having by that stage hopefully understood the exact precise matter, whether or not there are many or a few instances of this, and exactly what he has got in mind. It is my intention to proceed in an orderly fashion, the first part of which is to ascertain what exactly we are talking about.
