Ombudsman Investigation, Member for Bragg
The Hon. N.J. CENTOFANTI (Leader of the Opposition) (14:35): My question is to the Attorney-General. Following the report of the Ombudsman, will the Attorney-General and his ministerial colleagues take lessons on how to deal with actual, potential and perceived conflicts of interest and how to interpret the Ministerial Code of Conduct?
The Hon. K.J. MAHER (Attorney-General, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Minister for Industrial Relations and Public Sector) (14:35): Following the report, we certainly will have a look at some of the comments made in the report. In particular, we will look at the potential ways that parliament, through its committee structures, might refer things to the Ombudsman in the future. There were certainly some helpful guidelines in there that we will look at.
