Unemployment Figures

The Hon. R.L. BROKENSHIRE (14:43): On a supplementary to the minister based on his rhetoric in his answers: is the minister telling the house and therefore South Australians that he is proud of his government's unemployment record in South Australia?

MAHER (Minister for Employment, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation, Minister for Manufacturing and Innovation, Minister for Automotive Transformation, Minister for Science and Information Economy) (14:43): I thank the honourable member for his question. It is disappointing to see it has jumped up to 7.3 per cent. I was asked a question about some of the factors as to why that might be, and I have answered as to what some of those contributing factors could be. But it is disappointing to see it has jumped up, as it has jumped—up or down—by around half a per cent half of the time over the last year.
