Personal Explanation
LIVESTOCK (MISCELLANEOUS) AMENDMENT BILL
The Hon. R.L. BROKENSHIRE (15:22): I seek leave to make a personal explanation.
Leave granted.
The Hon. R.L. BROKENSHIRE: During the Livestock (Miscellaneous) Amendment Bill 2012 debate, I stated to the council that I was advised that the RSPCA ended up having to pay $750,000 for the Brinkworth case, which is a figure that had been put to me by a number of people. I have since been advised that due to the circumstances around that case that was an incorrect figure and the correct figure was $16,198, plus some commercial in confidence and other legal costs, which I am advised were not very significant.
