Algal Bloom

Will the algal bloom summer plan include clear and consistent communication with communities and visitors, public health advice for beachgoers and surfers, ongoing environmental monitoring, support for small businesses, including tourism and operators, and the recreational fishing industry already suffering losses due to reduced trade, as well as a specific plan for the ongoing sustainability of the fishing sector?

The Hon. P.B. MALINAUSKAS (Croydon—Premier) (14:59): I think that is a fair assumption, or a fair thing to assume by the member for Finniss. We are already doing each of those things, and as the algal bloom progresses to summer there will be a need to continue that effort and then ramp it up in certain circumstances. So the short answer is yes.
