Wage Theft

Mr TEAGUE (Heysen—Deputy Leader of the Opposition) (15:06): My question is again to the Premier. Does the Premier stand by his election promise on wage theft? With your leave, sir, and that of the house, I will explain

Leave granted.

Mr TEAGUE: At the 2022 election, Labor's IR policy stated, and I quote:

The fundamental bargain with work is that you get paid—on time and in full.

The Hon. P.B. MALINAUSKAS (Croydon—Premier) (15:06): Thank you to the deputy leader for his question. Yes, of course. I think the values of the government are plain and our expectations are clear that wherever someone is providing their labour, then it is the expectation of everybody on our side that people get paid in accordance with their entitlements. Now, if there is an instance where that isn't occurring and it is worthy of examination, then the government would be committed to looking into that, as is appropriate.
