Personal Explanation
Murray-Darling Basin Plan
Dr CLOSE (Port Adelaide—Deputy Leader of the Opposition) (15:53): I seek leave to make a personal explanation.
Leave granted.
Dr CLOSE: I reviewed the TV footage that we have of proceedings because I was concerned that there had been a question over the figure that I had used in the first grievance. Indeed, I had misspoken: I said 750 gigalitres when I meant 2,750 gigalitres, so I seek to correct the record. I wish only that those who took the water away from South Australia would be so quick to let facts be their guide and correct the record also.
Mr WHETSTONE: Point of clarification.
The SPEAKER: Member for Chaffey, the subject matter of an explanation is not open to debate. If the member for Chaffey would seek leave to make a personal explanation, he is entitled to do so, but otherwise I will move on.
