Child Protection

Ms SANDERSON (Adelaide) (14:43): My question is to the Minister for Education and Child Development. How many of the 49 recommendations made during the Hyde review, following the arrest of Families SA worker Shannon McCoole, have been implemented?

The Hon. S.E. CLOSE (Port Adelaide—Minister for Education and Child Development, Minister for Higher Education and Skills) (14:43): The substance of the Hyde work was to have a look at the way in which the recruitment process is undertaken within Families SA, particularly focused on, of course, the recruitment processes for residential care workers. The processes were dramatically overhauled as a result of that work and extensive work has been done to ensure, as best possible, that appropriate recruitment processes are undertaken. I am unaware of the specific number of recommendations. I can seek advice on that.
