Mr MARSHALL (Dunstan—Leader of the Opposition) (14:46): Supplementary, sir: can the minister explain to the house how it is possible that 180 careworkers going on strike will not have an effect on the care and protection of our children?

My understanding, and I am relying on what has been relayed to my office by the union, is that the term 'strike' is an inappropriate one, that it is industrial action that will not affect the services that they are providing to children.
