GRANT APPROVALS

The Hon. I.F. EVANS (Davenport) (14:22): My question is to the Premier. Why did the Premier not declare a conflict of interest before approving a $50,000 sponsorship package with the Port Power football club, a club for which the Premier was the ambassador and a Team Power member at the time of the approval?

M.D. RANN (Ramsay—Premier, Minister for Economic Development, Minister for Social Inclusion, Minister for the Arts, Minister for Sustainability and Climate Change) (14:23): There has been sponsorship of various Aboriginal programs for many years through the Port Adelaide Football Club and indeed other sporting organisations, so I find this quite extraordinary—absolutely extraordinary.
