It is important that the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) remains independent from ministers and members of parliament. I do not consider it would be appropriate for me to request such information from the ICAC, nor can I compel it as Attorney-General. Complaints about police are dealt with under the Police Complaints and Discipline Act 2016 and are the responsibility of the South Australia Police Internal Investigation Section. There are strict confidentiality provisions that apply under that act. Release of such information is a matter for the Commissioner of Police.
