MAHER (Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Attorney-General, Minister for Industrial Relations and Public Sector, Special Minister of State): I have been advised: South Australia is participating in the national plan of action being progressed by the Standing Council of Attorneys-General (SCAG) directed at increasing protections against antisemitism and hate crimes more broadly. On 15 August 2025, the SCAG reaffirmed this national plan of action, with work continuing under SCAG to identify best practice legislative and non-legislative responses to address antisemitism. These initiatives include the development of a National Hate Crimes and Incidents Database, to respond to the critical need to provide a more accurate picture of the prevalence of hate crimes in Australia. Work to date has included consultation with a wide range of affected community groups about their experiences with hate crimes and incidents.
