          <inserted>The Department for Child Protection is committed to safeguarding vulnerable children and young people and their families, including through the maintenance of confidentiality of information relating to individual cases. This commitment extends to protecting families from additional trauma that would arise from the release of identifying information after the death of a child or young person.</inserted>

          <inserted>The department must ensure it adheres to legislative requirements relating to information sharing and confidentiality set out in the Children and Young People (Safety) Act 2017.</inserted>

          <inserted>The department is committed to the annual publication of non-identifiable data about the deaths of children and young people in care or with prior child protection and family support system contact.</inserted>
