          <inserted>The state government welcomed the report from Commissioner Lawrie, which provided a thorough assessment of the government's application of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Placement Principle in this state. </inserted>
        </text>

          <inserted>We are taking the necessary time to consider the report's 48 findings and its 32 recommendations. </inserted>
        </text>

          <inserted>The Department for Child Protection is leading the preparation of the government's response which will be tabled in parliament in accordance with the Children and Young People (Oversight and Advocacy Bodies) Act 2016.</inserted>

          <inserted>The Children and Young People (Safety and Support) Bill 2024 has now been introduced to parliament.</inserted>
